Part 1: Brainstorm!: Due Friday, May 2. With help from your classmates, brainstorm a minimum of five different ideas for your final project. You should think about and discuss the types of materials you would need, where you could find information on the topic, and how you would share your project with the class (model, poster, display board, etc). After you have come up with at least five ideas, narrow down your list to your favorite top two! Part 2: Project Statement (rough draft): Due Tuesday, May 6. Write a short paragraph telling what your topic is and how you will model it for the class (poster, powerpoint, cake, etc). Next, make a list of materials and tools you think you will need for your project. Finally, create a timeline of "mini-due dates" to help you plan your project and have it finished by May 20. Part 3: Project Statement (final draft): Due Tuesday, May 20. The final draft of your project statement must be typed and clearly organized. A rubric is included in the attached instructions. Part 4: Final Project: Due Tuesday, May 20. You may select a topic from any of the Earth Sciences and may model it any way you like (poster, diorama, display board, model, powerpoint, etc). A rubic is included in the attached instructions. Entering your class project into the Southwest Idaho STEM Fair is optional, but recommended. Further information is included in the project instructions, and the STEM Fair flyer attached.
